Through a unique concept in Portugal - that intends to relate new technologies with the environment preservation and prove that technology can actively contribute to the reduction of the human ecological footprint - UTOPIA is not a conceptual project; materially, it consists in a total investment of about 230 thousand euros in a building of 250m2, to be inaugurated by the 10th Plako’s anniversary.

Inspired by the 'earthship' concept, it will be built with used tires (option that means a reduction of about approximately 70% of carbon emissions and superior energy efficiency levels when comparing to traditional construction materials).
